The Travel Channel is a countrywide state-level satellite TV channel specializing in tourism. It uses the Asia Pacific 6 geostationary satellite. Its receiving parameters are follows:

Downlink frequency:3900MHZ.
The Travel Channel is the media platform of Poly Asian Union. At present, it has already started operation in 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Authority, including Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, Chongqing, Guangzhou, Fuzhou, Jinan, Haikou, Changsha, Wuhan, Nanchang, Hefei, Zhengzhou, Shijiazhuang, Taiyuan, Shenyang, Changchun, Huhehaote, Nanning, Yunnan, Guiyang, Chengdu, Lanzhou, Xining, Wulumuqi, Lrasa, Yinchuan, Xi'an and etc. of the 85 cities surveyed by CSM, 57 cities have started to receive programs of the Travel Channel, that is 68% of the total cities surveyed. All the 10 cities surveyed by AC Nielsen are receiving the Travel Channel. Of the 138 model tourism cities named by the National Tourism Administration, 93(or 68%)are receiving the Travel Channel programs.
Efforts have been made in its program design to cater to the enquiries of market development and the audience. Now the channel has adopted a new structure of giving priority to travel information while paying adequate attention to fashion and recreation. It mainly targets at audience of urban in Habitants aged between 18 and 45 year of age in cities. This audience group is most active in social life and best reflects public opinions, lifestyles and consumption behavior of the current society.
